Client’s Vision and Our Approach
Recently, we had the pleasure of collaborating with a client who envisioned a sophisticated, yet practical solution for their upper-floor patio. Their request for a grey powder-coated base channel balustrade was clear, but it came with unique requirements considering the layout of the area. We prioritized not just appearance, but safety and privacy for both the homeowners and their neighbors.
Ensuring Privacy and Elegance
Given that the balustrade installation was situated on the first floor, where it overlooked neighboring properties, we recommended fitting the balustrade with opaque glass. This choice ensured that while the view from the patio remained enjoyable, the privacy of nearby residents was safeguarded. To meet local regulations and our client’s preferences, we made sure that the balustrade reached a minimum height of 1800mm from the floor, creating a chic yet functional barrier.
Thoughtful Design Considerations
One of the technical challenges was the roofline that overlapped the patio area. To address this, we carefully notched the last glass panel, allowing for a minimal gap to uphold safety standards without compromising aesthetics. Additionally, we incorporated a radiussed finish on the corner panel, transforming a practical feature into a stylish element of design. These thoughtful touches not only enhance functionality but also contribute to the overall visual appeal of the installation.
We love turning our clients’ ideas into reality and are thrilled with how this project turned out. Stay tuned for more updates on our innovative outdoor solutions!
